Our Comments: DeLorges is a fun Capitol Hill conversion project by Live Historic. True to their conversion style, they have kept the historic nostalgia of this building and brought it into the 21st century with refined finishes and true Capitol Hill charm. The big set back for this building might be its prices. Although finishes are nice, its debatable whether they warrant such a price gap between comparales in the neighborhood. Its location is prime: 1 block from Broadway and kitty-corner to the QFC shopping center. A lack of on-site parking is also a bummer, but you can’t have everything. If you’re looking for a charming new condo with classic charm in the hub of Capitol Hill, give DeLorges a look.

From their website:

Without a flicker of a doubt, the De Lorges was designed for those whose residential dreams feature a picturesque brick building intimately tucked into a neighborhood full of artistic quirk and architectural integrity.

In other words, you’re a Capitol Hill person—or you’re not.

Built in 1928 in the European revival style, the four-story De Lorges is just such a place. With a carved symbol of French royalty strategically mounted over the main entry door (yes, that would be the artichoke), the De Lorges is vintage at its Greta Garbo-ish best.

But don’t let that fool you. The De Lorges is in the middle of all that is active and urban: one block off Broadway, across the street from the Broadway Market, a few blocks from Volunteer Park.
